BACKGROUND

The applicant is requesting Design Review approval for the construction of a new 2½-story single-family dwelling on property located at 55 Mercury Avenue. The subject property is currently developed with a one-story home that is proposed to be demolished.

The application was first reviewed at the March 21, 2002 Design Review Board meeting. At that time, concerns were raised by the Design Review Board and several surrounding property owners regarding the proposed design. The application was continued to give the applicants time to address these concerns.

Since that time, the hearing for this application has been continued several times, and the applicants have granted a 90 day extension to the Permit Streamlining Act deadlines for this application. The time extension will expire on August 12, 2002.

At this time, the applicants have not submitted revised plans nor erected revised story poles for the project. The applicants have previously indicated to Staff that they may wish additional time to pursue appropriate design modifications to the project. Staff has indicated to the applicants that the project could be withdrawn and resubmitted at a later date, with some of the fees from the current application applies to the future submittal.

As no additional information has been received from the applicants at this time, the subject application is therefore officially deemed to be withdrawn. No further official action by the Design Review Board is required at this time.
